Selçuk İnan was born in İskenderun, Turkey. Since he was 14, the footballer played for a local club Karaağaçspor. But soon, in 2000, he signed his first contract with Dardanel Spor AŞ, which marked the beginning of his professional career. By the year of 2006 the midfielder had scored 6 times in 76 matches.
In 2006 Selçuk İnan joined Manisaspor and stayed there till 2008. He stabbed 11 goals in 75 matches for the club.
In 2007 Selçuk made his debut in the Turkey National Team.
Since 2008 the footballer, signed for €2 million, performed at Turkish Cup (Türkiye Kupası) and Turkish Super Cup (Süper Kupa) with his team Trabzonspor. His first game for the club was the one against Ankaraspor on August 24, 2008. The results of the season of 2008/2009 were quite satisfactory – Trabzonspor finished in the third place in the league. In 2011 Selçuk İnan started playing for Galatasaray in a number ‘8’ jersey.
Selçuk İnan made his first goal at international level on May 24, 2012 in a friendly against Georgia.
