A Spanish footballer Sergio Pelegrín López plays as a central defender for Elche FC. Sergio was born on 18 April 1979 in Barcelona, Catalonia.
The first club, where Pelegrín started his professional performance, was Espanyol. In 1999, the young footballer penned the contract with the club and joined its reserve team. In a year, Sergio joined Mallorca, where he performed for the B squad as well. He spent the 2000/2001 season with the club making 32 appearances and getting priceless playing experience.
In 2001, Sergio Pelegrín moved to Zaragoza, where he was again selected for the reserve team. The club’s management was sure that the defender was still not ready to perform for the main squad and to get the required playing practice Sergio joined the B side. In total, he netted seven goals in 66 matches for the reserves. In the summer 2003, the footballer’s contract was bought out by Girona. Over the course of the 2003/2004 season, Pelegrín made 29 appearances and racked up one goal.
In 2004, Sergio became the official member of Alicante, where he stayed for the following three years. The defender turned into the pivot of the defense making 104 appearances and netting seven balls.
In 2007, Pelegrín signed for Salamanca. Very soon he became the club’s anchor player. In total, he scored two goals in 67 games for the team. The 2009/2010 season Sergio spent at Rayo Vallecano making 36 appearances and netting two goals. In 2010, the defender joined Elche FC. Over the course of two seasons, Sergio racked up six goals in 57 club’s fixtures.
On international level, Sergio Pelegrín used to perform for the Spain youth team at U-17, U-18 and U-20 levels. In total, he made 12 appearances and racked up one goal for the national side.
