Shao Jiayi is a Chinese football player who currently performs as a midfielder for Beijing Guoan. He was born on April 10, 1980 in Beijing, China.
Shao launched his football journey with Beijing Guoan in 1999. He started his debut season in spectacular form. The classy midfielder impressed with his leadership qualities. While playing for the club, he registered 70 appearances and scored 12 goals. It was no surprise to see him catch the eye of many European clubs. Shao Jiayi began to show his talent on the biggest stages when his sealed a deal with 1860 Munich in the year of 2002. After four seasons with the club he switched to Energie Cottbus. His first goal came against Hertha Berlin. In total, the Chinese international played in 100 league matches and blasted 15 goals for Cottbus. Shao Jiayi took the next step in his career with a move to MSV Duisburg in 2011. However, his stay there was not a long one and in 2012 the experienced midfielder was transferred to Beijing Guoan.
Since the year of 2000 Shao Jiayi has been representing the China national team. In 2002 he performed at the World Cup which was hosted by South Korea and Japan.
