A Senegalese football player Souleymane Camara is a forward of the French club Montpellier HSC.
AS Monaco was the first European football club in Camara’s career. In late July 2011 the forward appeared for the first time in Ligue 1 match against Sochaux. In the 84th minute the footballer substituted Lucas Bernardi. Camara’s first goal in Ligue 1 was scored on 22 December 2011. This goal opened the score in the match against Rennes. In AS Monaco Souleymane played until the end of summer 2006 with the only recess for half a year in 2004 (in the course of this time the forward was loaned out to Guingamp).
Souleymane Camara played in Nice colours from 2005 till 2007. The forward spent 2 seasons with the club. During the 2005/06 season he appeared in 31 matches and scored 1 goal in the match against Lens. In the 2007/08 season the player was taken on loan by Montpellier which at that time played in Ligue 2 and in the summer of 2008 Camara signed a contract with the club.
In the 2008/09 season Montpellier returned to Ligue 1 and soon in the 2011/12 season the club gained the league title. Camara played a considerable role - he appeared in 33 matches and netted 6 goals.
Souleymane was called up to the Senegal national football team in the 2000/01 season. Being a member of this team he also participated at the 2002 FIFA World Cup (appeared in 1 match). Besides he took part in the African Nations Cup in 2002 (5 games and 1 goal), in 2006 (4 games and 1 goal), in 2012 (1 game).
