Stefan Ishizaki is an attacking midfielder, born on 15 May 1982 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Stefan commenced his junior career at Djurgårdens, subsequently moving to Rågsveds. In 1999 Ishizaki signed a professional agreement with the Swedish club AIK. He debuted for the first team in the Svenska Cupen game against Gefle. He later took part in the final match to help his team in their winning the cup.
However, Ishizaki made his first appearance in Allsvenskan only in 2000, when he took part in the match between AIK and Elfsborg. The midfielder later demonstrated outstanding display in a 4-1 victory over Helsingborgs, when he made 2 assists and netted a goal. During his 1999-2004 stay at AIK Stefan registered 103 appearances and scored 17 goals. In 2004 Ishizaki joined Genoa for a short loan spell, where he participated in 4 matches.
Following AIK’s relegation to Superettan, the midfielder signed for the Norwegian side Vålerenga in 2004. From 2004 to 2005 he featured in 15 matches and netted 2 goals.
In 2006 Ishizaki completed a move to Elfsborg. From 2006 to 2014 he made 183 appearances and scored 48 goals for Elfsborg. Then he moved to an American outfit Los Angeles Galaxy.
From 2001 to 2004 Stefan featured in 21 matches and scored 5 goals for the Sweden U21 team. From 2001 to 2012 he was called up to the senior national squad.
