Stefano Morrone is a central midfielder for Parma. He was born on 1978 in Cosenza, Italy.
Stefano’s professional career started in 1997 at his alma mater Cosenza. During the 1997/98 season Morrone made 27 appearances and scored 2 goals. In 1998 Stefano joined Empoli and made 24 appearances during the 1998/99 season. In 1999 Stefano signed for Piacenza on a 2-year contract. During that time the midfielder featured in 32 matches. In 2001 Morrone joined Venezia, where he started 18 matches and netted 1 goal during half a season. In January 2002 Stefano was sent on loan to his former home club Cosenza, totaling 14 appearances.
In 2002 Morrone was signed by Palermo. In 2003 he was loaned out to Chievo, where he made 20 appearances during the 2003/04 season. After returning from loan in 2004, Stefano continued to periodically start Palermo matches.
In 2005 Morrone joined Livorno on a 2-year contract. During that time Stefano was a key midfielder, making 72 appearances and scoring 7 goals for Amaranto. In 2007 Morrone transferred to his current Parma. Since his debut season at Gialloblù Stefano established himself as a regular, earning senior coach’s trust and making a total of 166 appearances and 9 goals by the end of 2012/2013 season.
Aged 33, Morrone was loaned to Serie B side Latina Calcio.
From 1999 to 2000 Stefano Morrone was capped 9 times for Italy U-21.
