Stephen Kelly is a back of Reading. He was born on 6 September 1983 in Dublin, Ireland.
The start of Stephen’s pro career fell on the year 2000, when he signed a contract with Tottenham. Kelly spent first two and a half years of his senior football life in London and left Spurs, joining Southend United on loan. He made ten appearances in the temporary team and continued his performance on loan in QPR, taking part in seven matches. In 2003 Stephen managed to begin his Watford spell and played for the new temporary club till 2004, coming on the pitch 13 times during that short period.
After returning to his parent Tottenham, Kelly continued his performance, but he was let on the field rather rarely and netted two goals in 37 matches for Spurs during five years in the club, except for one year on loan.
In the summer 2006 Stephen agreed a deal with Birmingham City on permanent basis. He was lucky to get to the starting line-up for the matches of his début season and the footballer did his best to secure that place in future. Kelly made 79 appearances for the club during two years and a half before being sent on loan to Stoke City, where he played six games in the second half of 2008/2009.
The 2009/2010 season was marked by Stephen’s transfer to Fulham. His appearances are rather occasional as the midfielder made 42 appearances for ‘The Cottagers’ during his entire spell. In 2013 Stephen signed a new deal with Reading.
