Steve Mandanda is a French footballer born on 28 March 1985 in Kinshasa, Zaire. He currently plays as a goalkeeper at Olympique de Marseille.
Steve was groomed at Le Havre youth system before joining the first team of the club in 2005. He made a total of 67 terrific performances for the club during a two-year stint that couldn’t but spark the interest of top European clubs like Manchester United and AC Milan. In 2007, Mandanda joined Olympique de Marseille. He cut a brilliant figure during the 2009/10 season leading Marseille to the Ligue 1 trophy. During his tenure at the club, Mandanda was awarded the Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year title twice in the 2007/08 and 2010/11 seasons.
In between 2003 and 2006, Steve Mandanda was a part of the France U21 team amassing 17 international appearances for this period. Since 2008, he is capped to the senior French side. He made his national team debut as a first-choice goalkeeper in the 2010 FIFA World Cup opening qualifier against Austria on 6 September 2008.
