Stuart Holden is a midfielder of Bolton Wanderers. He was born on 1 August 1985 in Cults, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, but moved to the USA with his parents at the age of 10.
Stuart’s youth career took off in Clemson Tigers in 2003, where the footballer performed during one year. In 2005, he penned his first professional contract with English side Sunderland, but failed to make any appearances for ‘The Black Cats’ due to an injury.
In 2006, Holden sealed a deal with MLS side Houston Dynamo and netted 15 goals in 88 fixtures for the club, which helped ‘The Men in Orange’ to clinch two MLS Champions titles in three seasons. In 2010, the midfielder completed a move to English side Bolton Wanderers and fired two goals in 28 games for ‘The Trotters’ as of February 2013.
From 2004 till 2008, Stuart featured in 18 matches and found the net three times for the United States national U-20 and U-23 squads. From 2009, he has been capped 17 times and contributed two goals for the senior national team.
