A Brazilian footballer Luciano da Silva, aka Triguinho, played as a defender for many Brazilian clubs. Luciano was born on 25 February 1979 in Piquete.
Luciano entered the academy of Guaratinguetá in1998 and his junior career started off. He played for the youth team during a year and then he was promoted to the club’s senior squad. Very soon his performance was noticed by the scouts from other clubs.
In 2001, the defender had a year spell at the Spanish Barcelona B. In 2002, Triguinho opted to join Figueirense. The move turned to be a success with the club winning the Campeonato Catarinense two times in a row (2002, 2003). The footballer made 30 appearances over the course of the season.
In 2004, he was scouted by São Caetano. After making a good start to life at the club, Luciano was noticed by many clubs and that’s why numerous loans would follow. In 2007, he served a six-month loan at Anderlecht. In 2008, the footballer defended another temporary club – Botafogo. He made 14 appearances and moved to Santos FC. But the most successful spell turned to be with Coritiba. Triguinho proved to be an essential player, helping the club to win the 2010 Campeonato Paranaense and the 2010 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. Luciano was, obviously, desired to be at the club’s disposal, so his contract was bought out. In 2011, the defender became the official team’s member. He spent another year playing for Coritiba. He again became the champion of the Campeonato Paranaense in 2011.
In 2012, Triguinho penned a contract with Atlético Mineiro. Before this happened, the defender had served a year-long loan at the club. In 2012, Luciano together with the squad won the Campeonato Mineiro.
In 2013 Triguinho had a short stint with Red Bull Brasil.
