Túlio de Melo is a centre forward, born on 31 January 1985 in Montes Claros.
The player’s youth career started at Atlético Mineiro academy where he studied and performed for the club’s youth team.
In 2003 he signed his first professional contract till 2005 with the club under the tutelage of which he honed his football skills. However the first season the forward spent as a bench warmer.
In 2004 the club’s management made a decision to give Túlio out on loan to AaB from the Danish Supeliga. During the first season he participated in the majority of club matches thus making 19 appearances and scoring 6 goals.
In 2005 Le Mans set their sights on the player and resolved to buy him out from Brazilian FC Atlético Mineiro. The forward agreed to a three-year deal with Le Mans and officially joined the team in the summer of 2005. He represented the club over a period of two seasons periodically playing in the major squad. He netted 72 goals in 22 appearances with the club.
In 2008 Túlio earned a call-up from Palermo which plays in Serie A. The player signed a contract with Italian club in the summer of 2008.
However the club changed its mind quickly and concluded that the purchase was a hasty decision. In the summer of the same year the forward was acquired by a French club Lille. Túlio de Melo has played in over 100 matches with the club and scored 28 goals.
In 2014 de Melo moved to Evian.
