Velizar Dimitrov is a professional Bulgarian footballer currently playing as a midfielder for Metalurh Donetsk FC. He was born on April 13, 1979 in Pernik, Bulgaria.
Velizar Dimitrov’s junior career started off at the academy of Minyor Pernik PFC, where he trained for 8 years. Over that time he turned into a very promising and reliable midfield player.
From 1997 till 1998 Velizar Dimitrov played for Lokomotiv Sofia PFC but came in on the pitch only 13 times. In 1998 he signed for Minyor Pernik PFC for two seasons to perform for the squad in 37 matches and mark them with 14 goals. Then the footballer returned to Lokomotiv Sofia PFC for the season of 2000/2001.
In 2001 Velizar Dimitrov joined Marek Dupnitsa PFC and stayed there for one season. He became a key midfield player of the team: participated in 38 games and scored 18 goals.
From 2002 till 2008 the footballer featured for CSKA Sofia PFC, where he remained one of the most important players on the pitch, beloved by the fans. In total he appeared in 139 matches and stabbed 52 goals for the team.
In 2008 Velizar Dimitrov signed up with Metalurh Donetsk FC and became an essential part of the squad.
In 2004 Velizar Dimitrov made his debut for the Bulgaria National Football Team.
