Vito Mannone is an Italian goalkeeper of English side Sunderland. He was born in Desio, Italy.
Vito began his career in the Bergamo side Atalanta youth academy in 2003. In the summer 2005 Arsène Wenger offered the Italian keeper to join the London side club. Mannone made his debut for the team on 24 May 2009 in the match against Stoke City.
However, Vito was not capable of becoming a frequent starter at the club and had loan spells with Barnsley and Hull City.
In 2013 Paolo Di Canio invited his compatriot to represent Sunderland.
