Wellington Alves da Silva is a footballer from Brazil, born in Rio de Janeiro in 1993. He began to play football in Portuguesa-RJ, then joined Fluminense and stayed there between 2004 and 2010. Having graduated from the academy he joined the senior squad of Fluminense, but didn’t stayed there for long and moved to Arsenal on 31 January 2010. There he played for the reserves and at the beginning of 2011 he was sent on loan to Levante, where he remained till the January 2012. His Levante debut was on 29 January in the match against Getafe.
Silva was loaned to Alcoyano until the end of June 2012 and on 15 August 2012 he signed a season-long loan deal with Ponferradina. His debut there was on 12 September in the Spanish Cup match against Villareal.
Wellington Silva was called up to play for the Brazil national U17 team and was a part of the squad at the 2009 FIFA U17 World Cup.
