William Ribeiro Soares is a defensive midfielder for Hapoel Be’er Sheva. He was born on 7 February 1985 in Arapora, Brazil.
William’s professional football career started in 2004, when he signed his first contract with Brazilian side San Jose. William didn’t feature too much in the Brazilian championship, but despite this, he still attracted the attention of Portuguese side C.D. Fátima’s scouts. As a result, in January 2005 Soares moved to Fátima. After one season there William was bought by SC Braga. In the 2005/06 season he played for the B team of Braga. In the summer of 2006 the Brazilian halfback transferred to another Portuguese club Gil Vicente F.C., but didn’t stay there for too long.
In 2007 William Soares moved to Israel by signing an agreement with Hakoah Amidar Ramat Gan F.C. A year later he moved to Hapoel, which was also located in Ramat Gan. The 2008/09 season turned out to be successful for Soares, as he played over 25 games and won the right to play in the Premier League in the next season.
In January 2010 Soares completed the transfer to Hapoel Be’er Sheva, which was in need of a high-class midfielder. From 2010 to the present time the Brazilian remains a regular midfielder at the club. During this period, he made over 70 official appearances and scored over 5 goals.
