Willie Overtoom is a midfielder of AZ Alkmaar. He was born on 2 September 1986 in Bertoua, Cameroon.
Willie’s career took off in Victoria Obdam, where the player started to adapt to the football world. After several years in the club, Overtoom got an opportunity to join the academy of AZ, which could give him more prospects. The midfielder used the chance and completed a move to the youth system of the new club.
In the summer 2005, Willie penned his first professional two-year contract. The footballer did not manage to make any appearances in the 2005/2006 season and decided to go on a season-long loan to Telstar, where he took part in nine fixtures during the 2006/2007 season.
In 2007, HVV Hollandia secured the midfielder’s services on permanent basis. Overtoom became a regular of the team and featured almost in every game in the 2007/2008 season.
In 2008, Willie sealed a deal with Heracles Almelo, where he made 137 appearances and amassed 38 goals as of November 2012. In 2013 Willie switched to AZ Alkmaar.
