Wilson Palacios is a midfielder of Stoke City. He was born on 29 July 1984 in La Ceiba, Honduras.
In 2002 Wilson reached the new level of performance after penning a professional contract with Olimpia. The footballer spent first six years of his senior career in the club and made occasional appearances under the guidance of the head coach. Despite that fact, Palacios managed to make 102 appearances and find the net 32 times during his spell.
The midfielder’s confident performance and progressive development drew the attention of various European clubs. English side Birmingham City decided to invite the footballer on loan so that to assess his strengths and weaknesses during the season. Wilson featured in seven games for the temporary club during one year and managed to catch Wigan Athletic’s eye. Palacios sealed a permanent deal with the new club after the end of the season.
Constant performing practice in English side Wigan Athletic did the footballer a lot of good. Wilson managed to quickly adapt to the new club, which helped him to become one of the anchor players. Palacios took part in 37 matches of ‘Latics’ and made the most thrilling display in his career. The midfielder’s confident performance and success earned him an invitation to London side Tottenham, where he made 65 appearances and netted one goal during two seasons. In the summer 2011, Wilson ended his Spurs spell with Stoke City move. The footballer showed solid play during the 2011/2012 season featuring in 20 games of the new club.
From 2003 Palacios was capped 77 times and contributed five goals for the Honduras national team.
