Winston Reid is a back of West Ham United. He was born on 3 July 1988 in North Shore, New Zealand.
Winston’s youth career passed in the academies of SUB Sønderborg and Midtjylland, which gave him required knowledge he used in the matches of youth teams of both clubs.
In 2005 Reid was absolutely ready for a professional start and that is why an invitation to the main team of Midtjylland was a logical end of his junior career. The footballer and his family moved to Denmark, when he was a child, because Winston began his performance both for the Danish side club and the Denmark national youth team a bit later. After penning a long-term contract with the team, the back started to make occasional appearances and managed to net two goals in 86 games of the club during five years.
In 2010 Winston was offered a move to Premier League side West Ham United. The back did not want to lose such an opportunity and accepted the offer in short term. The footballer started to perform for the new club in the 2010/2011 season and continues to play for ‘The Hammers’ up till now. Reid made 35 appearances and found the net three times during two years.
From 2007 till 2010, Winston was capped 15 times for the Denmark national U-19, U-20 and U-21 teams. From 2010, the back featured in ten games and contributed one goal for the New Zealand national squad.
