Xu Yunlong

Xu Yunlong is a Chinese footballer who operates as a defender for Beijing Guoan. He was born on February 17, 1979 in Beijing, China.

In his teenage years Xu Yunlong played with Beijing Youth and Beijing Victory. He impressed Beijing Guoan scouts with his technique and vision of the field and in 1999 he moved to the club on a long-term deal. The commanding defender became a firm fixture in the centre of the club’s defense. In the glorious 2009 campaign Xu Yunlong was installed as the Beijing Guoan captain.

On May 25, 2000 he made his international bow for China in the match against Yugoslavia. His international career really took off under the guidance of Bora Milutinović. The versatile player participated in the 2002 World Cup.
