Yevgeni Makeyev is a midfielder who defends the colours of FC Spartak Moscow. He was born on 24 July 1989 in Cherepovets, Russian SFSR.
In his teenage years Yevgeni trained with the youngsters of Severstal Cherepovets. He commenced his senior career at Sheksna Cherepovets in 2006. During 2006/07 season Yevgeni was an ever-present in the starting eleven, making 42 appearances and netting 2 goals.
In 2007, FC Spartak Moscow showed interest in the Makeyev `s services due to his positive display at Sheksna. In the winter of 2007 Yevgeni signed for Spartak. In spite of tough competition at the club, the young player pushed hard to be promoted to the starting lineup. The head coach often gave him a chance to feature as a substitute.
From 2009 to 2010 Yevgeni Makeyev won 11 international caps for the Russia U21 team. On 29 March 2011, he celebrated his debut for the senior national team, coming on as a substitute for Zhirkov in the match between Russia and Qatar.
