Zdeněk Pospěch was born on 14 December 1978 in Opava. He is a Czech football player.
Zdeněk Pospěch started playing football for FK Kylešovice. At the age of twelve, he moved to FC Kaučuk Opava which is known as SFC Opava. When he was 18, he left the club because of military service and returned on 2 August 1998. The defender made his debut in SFC Opava in the first division. During the first round, he played two games and was sent on a loan. After joining again the player appeared in 24 matches and netted three goals. Shortly after his club got into the first division, but Zdeněk moved to Banik Ostrava. In Ostrava he became a key player and in 2003/2004 put it in the back of the net nine times. It should be noted that Pospěch scored twenty goals in 114 games for the club.
During the winter holidays 2004/2005 Sparta Prague became interested in the player. The transfer took place after six months. By that time the player had already had two matches for the Czech national team. In the season 2006/2007, he missed only three matches. Later Pospěch appeared on the pitch as a forward, but due to the coach Bilek the footballer played again as a defender. On 23 January 2008 Zdeněk moved to Danish F.C. Copenhagen.
In July 2011, the player signed a two-year contract with FSV Mainz 05. His debut match was held on 28 July 2011 in the UEFA Champions League against Romanian Gaz Metan Media. Zdeněk Pospěch played for the first time in the League on 7 August 2011 against Bayer. At the national level, Zdeněk has performed in 31 matches and has netted two goals.
