Zlatan Ibrahimović. Biography
Zlatan Ibrahimović is a striker for Paris Saint-Germain. He was born on 3 October 1981 in Malmö, Sweden.
Zlatan’s professional career began in 1999 after signing his first professional contract with Malmö FF. The club was in Zlatan’s hometown, where prior to that he had played for Malmö BI junior club. During two seasons, from 1999 to 2001, the young Swede took part in 40 matches and scored 16 goals. Eventually, his play attracted top European football clubs. They saw his big potential and wanted to reveal it.
In 2001 Zlatan Ibrahimović accepted the offer of AFC Ajax and signed a long-term contract with the club. Since the first matches of his debut season, Zlatan was in the starting lineup, scoring decisive goals. Zlatan often missed the starting eleven, but that didn’t stop him from scoring 35 goals in 74 matches.
In 2004 Zlatan was transferred to Italian Juventus F.C. for 16 million euros. During 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons Zlatan scored 23 goals in 70 matches.
In 2006 F.C. Internazionale Milano signed a 4-year contract with Zlatan, having paid 24 million euros for his transfer. Inter has become one of the most successful stages in Zlatan’s glorious career. He played practically every game of the Italian Football Championship, scored a whopping number of goals and embraced the role of Inter’s permanent striker and a tip of attack. From 2006 to 2009 Zlatan Ibrahimović scored impressive 57 goals in 88 matches.
In 2009 Zlatan continued his bright career with Barcelona FC by signing a long-term contract with the Catalan club. Zlatan was often included in Barcelona’s stellar lineup, with 29 matches played and 16 goals scored by the end of the season. However, Barcelona wasn’t fully satisfied with his performance and when Milan offered Barcelona to loan Ibrahimović for a season, they did not ponder much.
From 2010 to 2011 Zlatan Ibrahimović was a rented player in A.C. Milan, where he was included in the starting lineup straightaway. Zlatan played almost desperately to earn Milan’s trust and respect. He didn’t feel right being a rented player, that’s why he tried his best to prove his significance to Milan and secure a place for himself in the club. In 2011, after Zlatan’s loan contract expired, A.C. Milan management decided to acquire the Swedish striker and make him a full-fledged part of the club. A.C. Milan had acquired the services of Zlatan Ibrahimović for 24 million euros and signed a long-term contract with him. In the following season Ibrahimović performed even better and by April 2012 he scored an outstanding 23 goals in 26 matches.
In 2012 transfer window Zlatan followed his fellow teammate Thiago Silva and joined an ambitious Paris Saint-Germain club.
In 2001 Zlatan played in the Swedish U21, where he scored 6 goals in 7 matches. Since 2001 Ibrahimović has been a leader of the Swedish national football team. His spectacular overhead goal against England was voted goal of the year 2013.
