Former professional Russian footballer Andrey Kobelev was born on 22 October 1968 in Moscow, Russia.
As a player, Kobelev was a stalwart of Dynamo Moscow. He played as a midfielder for the top-flight Russian club in different periods of his career amassing more than 250 league appearances and nearly 50 goals. In the 1993/94 season, he featured for a Spanish side Real Betis and between 1999 and 2001 was a part of Russian giants Zenit St. Petersburg.
After the retirement from football playing at the age of 34, Kobelev embarked on coaching career with his feeder club Dynamo Moscow. He started out as an assistant of the main coach in 2004 and then went on as a caretaker. In 2006, he took over Dynamo after coach Yuri Semin’s retirement.
In the summer 2011, Kobelev took charge of Krylia Sovetov and stayed there for one year and a half.
