Aurelijus Skarbalius is a football manager from Lithuania. He is a retired player, born in 1973 in Vilnus. Auri spent his youth playing career at Žalgiris Vilnius and then he switched to the senior squad in 1992. In 1994 he joined Inkaras Kaunas and in 1995 Auri moved to Denmark, where he signed for Brøndby IF.
The team won three Danish Superliga titles in a row just after his arrival to the club, thought he featured only in 17 matches. In the 2000/01 season he was used regularly and made 28 appearances out of 33 Superliga matches and in 2002 he was named Brøndby’s Player of the year. When Michael Laudrup was appointed the manager he brought several new players so Skarbalius appeared on the field only as a substitute and the second half of the 2004/05 season he was sent on loan to Herfølge BK for half a season and then returned back. Until the end of December 2005 Skarbalius featured for Brøndby in 3 matches and in the winter transfer window he joined Herfølge as a playing coach.
Aurelijus Skarbalius earned 65 caps for the Lithuania national team during 14 years.
In 2009, Herfølge merged with Køge Boldklub and he went on working with the club, named HB Køge. From October 2011 to 2013 Auri was in charge of Brøndby IF.
