John van den Brom is a Dutch coach and former professional midfielder. He was born on 4 October 1966 in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
John carved out the name for himself playing at Vitesse in between 1986 and 1993. For his seven-year stint at the club, he made a total of 80 goals in 225 games. In 1993, Van den Brom moved to the Dutch heavyweights Ajax where he played for two seasons. Later on he played 22 games in Istanbulspor colours in the 1995/96 season. A stalwart of Vitesse, the player returned to the club in 1996 and spent another five seasons there. In 2002, he joined De Graafschap for his final season before retirement.
Van den Brom embarked on his coaching career at amateur club Bennekom in 2003 before moving to Ajax where he coached their reserve squad. In between 2007 and 2010, John was appointed a head coach at a meager club AGOVV Apeldoorn and developed their game impressively. In the 2010/11 campaign, Van den Brom was at the helm of ADO Den Haag which broke into the 2011/12 Europa League thanks to his incredible job. The next season he ruled the roost at Vitesse. In May 2012, John van den Brom took over reins at Belgian Pro League title holders Anderlecht.
