Ruud Brood is a retired Dutch football player, who is currently the manager of Roda JC Kerkrade. Brood was born on 19 October 1962 in Gorinchem, Netherlands. During his playing career Brood played at the position of midfielder. His first professional club was Feyenoord Rotterdam, where he appeared in 68 matches and scored 17 goals.
In 1985 Brood was signed by RKC Waalwijk, where he stayed for two seasons. In 1987 he was signed by FC Den Bosch but two seasons later moved to Willem II Tilburg.
In 1990 Brood penned a deal with to NAC Breda, where he played 8 seasons and made 153 appearances.
Ruud Brood stepped into coaching in 1997 when he was appointed as NAC Breda youth coach. In 2004 he was introduced as Helmond Sport manager.
In 2012 Roda JC Kerkrade appointed him as the head coach.
