The Lesotho national football team, often nicknamed the Crocodiles, represents this African country in association football. It is governed by the Lesotho Football Association which was founded in 1932. The team became a full FIFA and CAF member in 1964.
The squad got a first taste to international action in a 2-1 win over Malawi in August 1970. They celebrated their biggest ever 5-0 win over Swaziland in 2006 and suffered their biggest 0-7 defeat to Zaire and Ghana in 1993 and 2012 respectively.
A minute country in the Southern Africa, Lesotho has never qualified for the FIFA World Cup. It has neither qualified for the African Nations Cup. The team made their biggest breakthrough in football when they finished as runners-up in the COSAFA Cup in 2000.
