Bruno Martins Indi is a left back, born on 8 February 1992 in Barreiro, Portugal. The footballer and his parents moved to the Netherlands, when he was three months old. Bruno grew up in Rotterdam and obtained citizenship.
Indi joined the main team of Feyenoord after graduating from the academy of the club. The player’s début came on 19 August 2010 in the Europa League match against Gent. Three days later, the back made his first Eredivisie appearance in the draw with Heracles Almelo. On 12 September 2010, Bruno was sent off for the first time in his Feyenoord career.
On 31 October 2010, AZ saw him make his first assist to Luc Castaignos. On 17 April 2011, Indi fired his first Eredivisie goal in the hammering 6-1 victory over Willem II.
In the 2011/2012 Ronald Koeman took over the helm of the club and made Martins a regular. Bruno’s stellar performance drew the attention of Italian side Milan, but the footballer rejected all offers and stayed with his native squad. On 22 February 2012, the back extended his contract with Feyenoord and continued to make positive defensive display.
After a successful World Cup in Brazil, Martins Indi attracted attention from European top clubs, but preferred to join Porto.
Indi was capped for the Netherlands U-17 team in 2009. From 2010, the back has been capped for the U-19 squad and contributed one goal in 11 matches for it. Since 2012 Bruno has been capped for Netherlands national team.
