Alaixys Romao is midfielder of the French club Marseille. He was born on 18 January 1984 in L’Haÿ-les-Roseson (the southern suburbs of Paris).
In 2002, after many years of training with Toulouse B, Romao got an opportunity to give a start to his professional career. Before the footballer was offered a permanent professional contract, he used to be the alumnus of this very club. Alaixys was a substitute, but he managed to feature in many games. He was let on the pitch 71 times during two years. In 2004, his spell with Toulouse ended.
In 2004, the player moved to Louhans-Cuiseaux. The club was in the French third tier (National). Romao signed a contract, according to which he stayed with the team during three years. The head coach gave Romao a sporting chance on the field. From now on, he appeared in the starting outline very often and the football player scored 5 goals in 82 games during his spell.
In 2007, Grenoble wished to secure Romao’s services and offered him a three-year contract. After taking the offer, the midfielder got the place in the starting XI. With this team he gained his priceless performing experience and turned into a very promising player. He took part in 96 matches and found the net three times before the contract ran out.
In 2010, Romao was signed by Lorient. Since the summer 2010, the footballer made more than 40 appearances for the club during 2 years. In 2013 the Togolese joined Olympique Marseille.
From 2002 to 2003, Alaixys featured for France national U-18 team. In 2006, he was invited to the World Cup as a player of the Togolese national team. He has played for the national team 31 times since then.
