Albin Ekdal is a midfielder for Cagliari. He was born on 28 July, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Albin’s professional career started in 2007, after he graduated from Brommapojkarna youth academy and advanced to the first team. During the 2007/08 season Albin often appeared in the starting lineup, showing a good level of play. Ekdal reliably performed as a center midfielder making a total of 24 appearances.
In 2008 Albin moved to Juventus on a 2-year contract, though the competition in the club was extremely high and the young player made only 3 appearances in the 2008/09 season. Unfortunately for Albin there wasn’t a spot for him in the starting lineup in the following season, so he was sent on loan to Siena. During the 2009/10 season Ekdal was in the starting 11 in more than half of league games for Siena, making 26 appearances and scoring 1 goal.
Despite returning to Juventus after the loan, in the summer of 2010 Edcal decided to leave the Old Lade and signed a deal with Bologna. Ekdal started appearing in the first team, gradually becoming an important part of the side. For the 2010/11 season the Swedish midfielder played in 22 matches and netted 1 goal for Bologna.
In 2011 Ekdal moved to Cagliari. Albin’s ardor and talent helped him to become a key midfielder.
From 2008 to 2010 Albin Ekdal appeared in 12 matches and scored 2 goals for Sweden U-21. Since 2011 he made two caps for the national team of Sweden.
