Aleksandr Samedov is a Russian football player born on July 19, 1984 in Moscow.
Alexander started playing football in the FC Spartak Moscow youth academy and then was considered one of the most gifted young players of the club. At the age of 18 the footballer already got a regular starting spot in the first side, but when the manager Nevio Scala was replaced by Aleksandrs Starkov Samedov lost his first-string player status.
In 2005, Alexander signed for FC Lokomotiv Moscow where he spent the 3 following seasons, made 65 appearances and scored 5 goals including his right-foot finish into the net of Rapid Wienna in the 2005/06 UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.
In 2008, Samedov moved to FC Moscow where he spent a season and a half whereupon left for Dynamo Moscow in 2010. With Dynamo the right winger featured in 75 matches and kicked 9 goals.
In 2012, the footballer returned to Lokomotiv Moscow.
As an international Alexander Samedov was frequently invited to the Azerbaijan national football team, but the player refused all the offers and in 2011 finally got the cap for the Russia national football squad. On September 22, 2011 he made his international debut, coming on as a substitute on the 89th minute of the match against the team of Slovakia.
