André Dias is a center back for Lazio. He was born on 15 may 1979 in São Bernardo, Brazil.
André’s youth career started at Palestra de São Bernardo youth academy located in his hometown. Dias studied at the academy until he was finally ready to make a name for himself in pro football.
In 1999 André signed his first professional contract with Brazilian Série B Paraná. In the 1999/00 season Dias often started Paraná matches mainly due to support of the head coach. During one season at the club the young Brazilian made 24 appearances and scored 1 goal.
In 2001 André signed for Flamengo and stayed with the club for one season. At Flamengo André was used irregularly and mostly as a substitute totaling 10 games.
In 2003 Dias continued his career at Paysandu. During the 2003/04 season the head coach trusted young Brazilian defender enough to let him play 26 matches in which he scored 1 goal.
In 2004 André Dias continued his career at Brazilian Série B Goiás. There André played for 2 years eventually becoming a key defender with a total of 74 appearances and 3 goals.
In 2006 André moved to Série A São Paulo that became the most successful stage of his career. André played for the club during 4 seasons with a personal standing of 109 matches and 6 goals by 2010.
In 2010 André Dias signed a professional contract with S.S. Lazio. At present Dias is a key center back for Biancocelesti with 65 appearances and 4 goals during 2 seasons.
André Dias won Brazilian League three times in São Paulo ranks. He is a twofold holder of Silver Ball and a part of Brazilian Série A Team of the Year in 2009.
