A Brazilian footballer André Luiz Tavares, aka Andrezinho, plays as a midfielder for Tianjin Teda. He was born on 30 July 1983 in Campinas.
Andrezinho signed his first pro contract in 2001 with Flamengo. Before this happened, he had been playing for the club’s youth team. His start to life at the professional level was very fortunate, as he won the Copa dos Campeões and the Campeonato Carioca during his debut season.
In 1999, the midfielder won the FIFA U-17 World Cup under the flag of the Brazil national youth squad. In 2003, he defended the U-20 and U-23 teams. He became the champion of the 2003 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
In 2004, the midfielder moved to Korea, where he joined Pohang Steelers. The club was crowned the champions of the 2007 K-League and Tavares was subsequently awarded the title of the K-League Most Valuable Player.
In 2008, the footballer returned to Brazil, where he was hired by Internacional. Andrezinho won the Campeonato Gaúcho under the club’s flag two times (in 2008 and 2009). He also became the holder of the 2008 Copa Sudamericana and the 2010 Copa Libertadores. Besides, he became the champion of the 2009 Suruga Bank Championship and the 2011 Recopa Sudamericana.
Such a success couldn’t but be noticed by other clubs. The footballer got a lot of proposals, but he opted to join Botafogo. In 2012, after the contract had been signed, the footballer officially became the team’s member. He had made 35 appearances for the squad and moved to a Chinese club Tianjin Teda.
