Ben Turner is a defender of Cardiff City. He was born on 21 August 1988 in Birmingham, England.
Ben spent the last year of his youth career in the academy of Coventry City, which he joined in 2004 after a series of special tests and a demonstration game. The footballer tried to reach the level of a professional player, and he coped with that task by 2005, when the management of the club invited him to the first squad.
In 2005, Turner penned his first senior contract with Coventry City and was given an opportunity to come on the pitch as a substitute several times during his début season. The defender proved to be very talented and promising, but he failed to clinch a regular place in the starting XI, which entailed his temporary move to Peterborough United in 2006. Ben got a chance to gain his first professional experience, as he took part in eight fixtures for the club during his spell. In 2007, he went on loan to Oldham Athletic and featured in one match for the temporary team during several months.
After returning to his parent Coventry City, the footballer took his tally to 72 appearances and four goals by 2011, when his services were secured by Cardiff City. Turner took part in 54 fixtures and found the net two times for ‘The Bluebirds’ as of January 2013.
