Billel Omrani is a French footballer who plays as a striker at Marseille.
Omrani joined Marseille in 2007 after he had featured for two amateur clubs in the vicinity of Moselle. On 19 March 2011 he was signed to a professional three-year contract. Later Omrani was transferred to the senior team by the club’s manager Didier Deschamps. He made his debut as a senior team player on 2 October in a Ligue match against Stade Brestois 29. During that match he took the field as a substitution.
In 2013 Omrani was loaned to Ligue 2 side Arles.
Billel featured for France youth national U17 and U18 teams. With his former team he played in UEFA Europe 2010. However due to his Algerian origin the footballer has a right to represent Algeria national team as well. In October 2011 the footballer was called up to Algeria national U-23 team to play friendly matches before 2011 Africa Cup of Nations. But there appeared to be a misunderstanding about this call because the coach of the national team intended to call up another player of Algerian origin who featured for Marseille as well.
