Carlos Carmona plays at the position of midfielder for Atalanta BC. He was born on 21 February 1987 in Coquimbo, Chile.
The player’s youth career started at the academy of Coquimbo Unido. Over a long period of time Carlos was one of the most excelling players of the academy. Due to that he earned a call up to the first team of Coquimbo Unido. In 2005 Carmona signed a professional contract with Coquimbo Unido and joined the major squad. During a preseason tryout, which was held for all newcomers, the player made a favourable impression on the head coach. After such excellent start Carlos did not leave the position of midfielder until his transfer to the new club.
In 2007 Carmona agreed to a contract with O’Higgins which he represented throughout the 2007/08 season making 17 total appearances and scoring 3 goals.
In 2008 a Chile midfielder received a call up from Italian club Reggina Calcio. Carlos immediately became an integral member of the team appearing practically at every match. Thus in two years he featured in 87 games.
Since 2010 Carmona has starred for Atalanta BC.
Since 2008 he has been playing for the Chile national football team.
