César Navas is a center back for Rubin Kazan. He was born on 14 February, 1980 in Móstoles, Spain.
Despite the fact that Navas graduated from Real Madrid youth academy, he never got a chance to play for Los Blancos first team. Instead, he made 101 appearances and scored 1 goal for Real Madrid B. César wasn’t satisfied with Real Madrid B team and thus decided to move to Málaga in December, 2004. There he also played for the B team, but this time managed to become a regular in the starting eleven. Málaga period was quite successful for the young Spanish defender, until the relegation of his club. Navas was loaned to Gimnàstic, but in 2007 the new club was relegated too. Navas was meant to join Ipswich, but injury prevented him from playing in the English championship. Back at Spain Navas joined Racing Santander, where he played 37 matches and scored one goal.
The Spanish defender signed for Russian Premier League side Rubin Kazan on a 3-year deal on 20 February, 2009. The transfer fee amounted to over €2 million. On 7 March Navas debuted for Rubin in the Russian Super Cup, but the club from Kazan lost that game, and César had to wait another year to get a hold of the trophy, as Rubin won the Russian Super Cup in 2010.
During his stay at the Russian Premier League Navas won major Russian football championships: Russian Premier League 2009, Russian Cup 2011/12 and Russian Super Cup 2010 and 2012.
From 1997 to 1999 César Navas played for Spanish youth teams U-17 and U-18, with a total of 11 caps and 2 goals.
