Christofer Heimeroth began his career in football at SG Massen. Christofer had been an academy trainee until 1995 before receiving an offer to move to the BSV Menden youth team. In a year the goalkeeper decided to change the club and joined Borussia Dortmund. However, Heimeroth didn’t stay there too long and preferred SF Oestrich-Iserlohn to the German giant. Nevertheless, very soon he was transferred to Schalke 04.
Christofer’s professional career started at Schalke 04, where he had previously played at youth level. He began with the reserve team and appeared in 85 matches. In 2004 he was given a chance to feature in the starting lineup, but those appearances were rare to become the first-choice keeper for the club. So, in two years, the footballer started looking for a new club, which turned out to be Borussia Mönchengladbach. And the result is 67 appearances for the main team. The goalkeeper is currently competing with Marc-André ter Stegen for the first place in the starting lineup.
Heimeroth was given 4 calls to the Germany U-21 team. He hasn’t been invited to the senior squad yet.
