Ciro Polito plays in the goalkeeper role for Atalanta BC. He was born on 12 April 1979 in Naples, Italy.
Ciro’s senior career began in 1997 when he signed his first professional contract with Salernitana. In 1998 he was loaned to Rimini Calcio FC for which he participated in 29 matches during one season. In 1999 Ciro was bought out by Lucchese which he represented throughout the 1999/00 season making 5 appearances for the club.
In the year 2000 Polito was given out on loan to A.C. Mantova for which he starred in 12 matches. In the summer of the same year the player signed a contract with U.S. Avellino and performed for it in 22 games. From 2002 till 2009 the goalkeeper played for various Italian clubs, among which were A.C. Pistoiese, Acireale, Catania, Pescara and Grosseto. In total for these five clubs Ciro featured in 131 matches.
In 2009 the player’s last loan spell was over. Polito agreed to a lasting contract with Salernitana – the club where started his professional career. Over a period of two seasons he starred for that club thus appearing in 32 matches. He even managed to score a goal.
In 2011 the player joined Atalanta BC to provide injury cover.
