A Zambian footballer Clifford Mulenga plays as a winger for Supersport United. He was born on 5 August 1987 in Kabompo.
Clifford spent his junior career playing for the youth team of Chiparamba Great Eagles. In 2004, he penned the pro contract with Pretoria University.
In 2005, Mulenga was selected to perform for Zambia national team. He participated in the 2006 African Nations Cup, when his squad came third in group C of the competition’s first round. The team didn’t succeed in securing the qualification for the quarter-finals. Nevertheless, Clifford was noticed by various European clubs, among which were PSV Eindhoven and Real Madrid. He became known as a talented and quick winger. Mulenga managed to reveal all his potential at the African Youth Championship, especially in a match with Nigerian U-20 squad. He produced a fabulous performance during that match but received a red card for sparking an on-pitch melee with the opponents.
In 2008, Pretoria University announced that Clifford belonged to the club, but the FAZ claimed the winger would join the Israeli club Maccabi Petach Tikva. Nevertheless, the contract wasn’t penned and Mulenga moved to Bidvest Wits. He spent the 2008/2009 season with the team scoring 1 goal in 11 matches. In 2009, the footballer had a short span at Thanda Royal Zulu and moved to Mpumalanga Black Aces. In 2010, a deal was agreed with Bloemfontein Celtic. Clifford netted seven goals in 43 games during the span.
In 2012, a transfer to SuperSport United happened.
