Danny Lafferty is a back of Burnley. He was born on 18 May 1989 in Derry, Northern Ireland.
Danny spent last years of his youth career in the academy of Oxford United Stars, where he got ready for a senior start. In 2006, Scottish side Celtic offered the footballer a move, which was accepted in the summer the same year. Lafferty put pen to paper of his first professional contract with the club, but failed to come on the pitch till January 2010, when he went on loan to Ayr United.
The back netted one goal in 14 fixtures for the temporary team during six months and sealed a permanent deal with Derry City, where he fired seven goals in 46 matches during one year and a half.
In January 2012, Danny penned a contract with English side Burnley and made 14 appearances for ‘The Clarets’ as of January 2013.
From 2005 till 2009, the footballer took part in 12 games for the Northern Ireland national U-17, U-19 and U-21 squads. From 2008 till 2009, he featured in one match for Northern Ireland B. From 2012, Lafferty has been capped two times for the senior national team.
