Dean Gerken is a goalkeeper of Ipswich Town. He was born on 22 May 1985 in Rochford, England.
In 2002, Dean graduated from the academy of Southend United and put pen to paper of his first professional contract with Colchester United. The footballer’s career in the club was not very stable, because he failed to clinch a regular place between the posts, but took part in 109 fixtures for ‘The U’s’ during seven years.
In January 2009, Gerken went on loan to Darlington and made seven appearances for the temporary team during his spell. He managed to draw the attention of English side Bristol City and penned a contract with the new club in June 2009, but the manager could not offer him the position of a first-choice keeper. In the 2010/2011 season, Dean had been given an opportunity to change his status after the regular goalie left the team. The footballer showed steady performance and clinched a spot in the starting XI, which helped him to make 53 appearances for ‘The Robins’.
Since July 2013 Gerken has featured for Ipswich Town.
