Denys Barvinko is a Ukrainian footballer who currently plays in the position of a defender for Metalist Kharkiv. He also plays for the Ukraine national youth team. He was born in Dnipropetrovsk. Denys began his career in 2007 when he began featuring for Metalurh Zaporizhya in the Ukrainian National Youth Competition. After that, in 2009, the defender transferred to Metalist Kharkiv academy.
On 12 August 2011 Barvinko made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier Reserve League taking part in an out match against Obolon Kyiv. The footballer played the whole game that time. Soon the player first appeared in the first team for Yellow-Blues taking the field in a match against semi-amateur Beregvideik in a round of 16 of the Ukrainian Cup. Denys was given a chance to show his worth from the start of play. As a result the young footballer played 60 minutes and distinguished himself by an assist to Jonathan Cristaldo being later substituted by Robert Gegedosh.
On 1 April 2012 Denys made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League appearing in a home match against Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih. The footballer took the field in the starting lineup taking the position of a defender; in the 75th minute he assisted again, this time to Marlos. On the whole, the debut appeared to be rather successful and the footballer deserved praise on the part of journalists and experts.
In October 2011 Denys was called up to the Ukraine national U-19 football team that was coached by Yuriy Moroz. Young footballers were to play two friendly matches with Italian peers. In December 2011 the defender could appear in international matches, but he couldn’t participate because of injury. In April 2012 Barvinko received other calls up to friendly matches against the Belgium national U-19 football team.
