Dorus de Vries is a goalkeeper of Nottingham Forest. He was born on 29 December 1980 in Beverwijk, Netherlands.
Dorus’s professional career took off in ADO Den Haag in 2008, when he penned his first professional five-year contract with the club. The footballer made 18 appearances for the team during his début season, which became a very good start for him.
The following year was rather fruitful for de Vries as well, because he managed to clinch a regular place between the posts due to his confident and solid display. The keeper took part in 69 fixtures for the club till the summer 2006, when he decided to move to Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic. Dorus was given a chance to feature almost in every match of the season, which helped him to draw the attention of Swansea City.
In 2007, the footballer put pen to paper of a contract with ‘The Swans’ and made 47 appearances for the new team during his first year at Liberty Stadium. Four years with the new team were very successful for de Vries, who took his tally to 178 matches by 2011.
In 2011, the keeper’s services were secured by Wolverhampton Wanderers, which was getting ready for a Premier League campaign. However, the head coach opted for Wayne Hennessey as a first-choice goalie, and Dorus managed to take part only in 14 fixtures for ‘The Wolves’.
In 2013 the Dutch joined Nottingham Forest.
