Edmar Halovskyi de Laserda is a midfielder at Matalist Kharkiv. He has the citizenship of Brazil and the Ukraine. He plays for the Ukraine national team. The footballer was born in a Brazilian municipality of Mogi das Cruzes in the state of São Paulo.
Edmar began his football career at Brazilian Inter de Limeira featuring for it in 1999 in the third division of Brazilian football. Soon the midfielder transferred to Paulista playing for it from 2000 to 2001. After that he was promoted and signed a contract with Internacional representing the premier league in Brazil - Série A.
However, Edmar did not manage to fix his position in Brazil and had to look for other options for resuming his career abroad. Finally in 2003 the player was invited to move to Ukrainian Tavriya Simferopol by his friend Roger De Oliveira. Edmar promptly showed his worth in Simferopol becoming the core halfback of the team. In 2004 the Brazilian already captained the team becoming the first foreign captain in the history of the Crimean club.
The midfielder spent four and a half seasons with Tavriya appearing 119 times and scoring 18 goals. After he had won the recognition in the Ukraine Edmar transferred to Metalist Kharkiv in August 2007 as the club was actively bolstering the lineup for participation in Eurocups. On 20 September 2007 the footballer distinguished himself scoring a goal to English Everton at the Goodison Park during the UEFA Europa League group stage. The goal let Metalist hold on for a tie quite unexpectedly. In the return game Edmar showed his worth once again netting a goal; however, his club yielded to the Toffees with a score of 3 to 2 slumping out of the tournament.
After a failure at the start at UEFA Europa League the Brazilian footballer went on showing excellent play helping his team to become second runners-up in the Ukrainian Premier League five times in succession; besides, he helped the team to make the quarterfinals in the 2011/12 UEFA Europa League. By the beginning on the 2012/13 season the midfielder had taken part in 171 games of the club’s tournaments scoring 22 goals altogether.
On 13 December 2008 Edmar married a Ukrainian girl Tatyana. The marriage let him take the Ukrainian surname – Halovskyi. Besides, the footballer acquired the citizenship of the Ukraine and made his debut for the Ukraine national team on 10 August of the same year.
