Eduardo Gonçalves de Oliveira, better known as Edu, is a Brazilian striker, born on 30 November 1981 in São Paulo, Brazil.
Eduardo started out his professional career at Sao Paulo in 2001. During the timespan from 2002 till 2010 he performed at Náutico, CRAC, VfL Bochum, Mainz 05 and Suwon Bluewings. In 2008 Edu was included in the Top 11 of the best K-League footballers.
In 2010 de Oliveira joined the ranks of Schalke 04. In 2011 Eduardo won the DFB-Pokal and DFL-Supercup with the team. On 31 August 2011 the footballer switched to Turkish side Besiktas on a 1-year loan spell. In the summer of 2012 he joined Greuther Fürth for a season-long loan.
From 2013 to 2014 he has featured for a Chinese side Liaoning Whowin. Later on he joined a Japanese side FC Tokyo.
