Egyptian striker Emad Moteab was born on 20 February 1983 in Sharkia.
The product of Al-Ahly youth system, Emad signed a professional contract with the club in 2004 and played there for six years. He got off to a flying start scoring in the 11th minute of his debut Egyptian Premier League game against Suez Cement. In the 2008/09 season, Emad played on loan for a Saudi top-flight side Ittihad Jeddah amassing 13 goals in 21 matches throughout the campaign. Overall, Moteab scored 94 goals in 186 appearances during his spell at Al-Ahly. In 2010, the Egyptian signed for Standard Liège from the Belgian Pro League but he was never to come on the field. In 2011, Moteab returned to Egypt and joined his feeder club Al-Ahly where he plays till today.
Moteab is considered to be one of the best African forwards of his age. He is the recipient of numerous honors such as six Egyptian Premier League titles, four consecutive Egyptian Super Cups, three CAF Champions League victories and others.
Emad Moteab is a regular international for Egypt since 2005. Together with the Egypt national team he recorded three Africa Cup of Nations trophies in 2006, 2008 and 2010.
