A Spanish footballer Esteban Andrés Suárez plays as a goalkeeper for UD Almería. Andrés Suárez was born on 27 June 1975 in Avilés.
Esteban started his playing career at the local club Avilés, where he spent two years since he first joined the team in 1994. That period was lined with 40 appearances made.
Such a successful start was noticed by numerous clubs, among them was Oviedo. In the summer 1996, the keeper joined the club’s reserve team. He appeared 37 times for the B team. In 1997, Suárez earned the promotion to the main squad. He immediately established himself as a first-choice keeper, and since then made starts in almost all the club’s fixtures. Altogeteher, he made 182 appearances for Oviedo.
The 2002/2003 season found the goalkeeper defending the colors of Atlético Madrid . Esteban appeared 23 times for the team. In the summer 2003, the player’s contract was bought out by Sevilla, where he stayed until 2005 making 58 appearances.
In 2006, a move to Celta took place. Suárez spent two seasons at the club appearing both as a member of the starting eleven and as a substitute player. The spell was lined with 33 appearances made. In the summer 2008, a long-term deal was agreed with Almeria. He’s already featured in more than 50 club’s fixtures.
On international level, Esteban was once capped for the Spain U-21 squad in 1998.
