Fernando Redondo is a retired footballer. He was born in 1969 in Adrogué, Argentina, and began his professional playing career at Argentinos Juniors in 1985. In 1990 he left Argentina for Spain, where he joined CD Tenerife. There Redondo played until 1994 and then switched to Real Madrid. There he became the team’s key player, made 155 league appearances and in 1996/97, 1999/2000 he was named Real Madrid Player of The Year. He left them for A.C. Milan in 2000. While in Milan, Redondo picked up an injury and that left him aside from playing. In 2004 he retired.
Redondo earned 29 caps for the Argentina national team between 1992 and 1999. He was used mostly from 1992 and 1994 and was a part of the team in the 1994 World Cup.
