Jaime Valdés is an attacking midfielder for Parma. He was born on 11 January 1981 in Santiago, Chile.
Jaime began his professional career in 1998 by signing for Palestino. During 2 seasons the Chilean was a regular at Palestino, scoring 15 goals in 39 appearances.
In 2000 Valdés joined Italian Serie B Bari on a very attractive contract. From 2000 to 2004 Valdés was a key attacking midfielder at the club. During 4 seasons at Bari the Chilean midfielder made 119 appearances and netted 8 goals.
In 2004 Valdés signed for Fiorentina and made 5 appearances during the 2004/05 season for the club. In 2005 Valdés was signed by Lecce on a permanent contract. During 3 seasons at Lecce, Jaime was a regular totaling 116 appearances and 16 goals.
In 2008 Jaime joined Italian Serie A Atalanta on a 2-year contract. From 2008 to 2010 the Chilean featured in 61 matches and scored 10 goals. In 2010 Valdés signed for Portugese Sporting CP and scored 5 goals in 23 appearances by 2011. In 2011 Parma loaned Jaime from Atalanta and after a successful 2011/12 season they signed him on a permanent contract.
Since 2001 Jaime Valdés is called up to represent Chilean national football team with 3 appearances so far.
